how to play fit in

Fit in is a free block puzzle. You get three blocks at a time to place on an 8 by 8 board. Every full row or column clears. Keep clearing to build a combo, and the game ends when none of your blocks fits anywhere.

  1. Drag a block from the tray onto the board. On phones it floats above your finger so you can see where it lands, and the shadow on the board shows the exact spot.
  2. Rows and columns the block would finish light up before you let go.
  3. Or tap a block to pick it, then tap where it goes. With a keyboard, press 1, 2 or 3, move it with the arrows and press Enter.
  4. Use all three blocks to get three new ones. No rotating: blocks go in as they come.

Keyboard: Press 1, 2 or 3 to pick a block, arrow keys to move it, Enter to place it, Q and E to switch blocks, and Esc to go back to the menu.

tips

  • Keep a 3 by 3 space open for the big square block.
  • Fill one edge first and work inward instead of scattering blocks.
  • The combo survives two quiet moves. Watch the three lights by the combo: clear again before they run out.
  • A faded block in the tray doesn't fit anywhere right now. Make room for it with the others first.

faq

How does scoring work?

Each block scores one point per square. A clear scores 10 times the number of lines squared, times your combo. Clearing the whole board adds 300.

How does the combo work?

Every clear adds one to the combo and refills its three lights. A move that clears nothing uses up a light. When all three are gone, the combo ends.

Can I get a hand that doesn't fit?

Hardly ever. Before dealing, we check that the three blocks can all be placed in some order on the board you have, and try other hands until they can. Only a nearly full board can beat that check.

Can I rotate blocks?

No. Every rotation shows up as its own block, so the tray decides.
