how to play pour decisions

Pour decisions is a free color sorting puzzle in twenty levels. Each tube holds four layers of colored liquid. Pour between tubes until every tube holds a single color. Every level has been sorted by our solver first, and the fewest pours it found is that level's par.

  1. Tap a tube to pick it up, then tap another tube to pour into it.
  2. You can pour onto the same color, or into an empty tube, as long as there's room. The whole top color pours, or as much as fits.
  3. Finish near par for three stars. Undo takes back a pour, but the pour still counts.
  4. Stuck? Take the spare tube. It gets you out of any corner, and the level then gives two stars at most.
  5. From level 4, some levels hide everything but the top colors. Pour to find out what's underneath.

Keyboard: Arrow keys move between tubes, Enter or Space picks up and pours, number keys pick tubes 1 to 10 directly, Z undoes, T takes the spare tube, S switches symbols, R restarts, L opens the levels, and Esc goes back to the menu.

tips

  • Empty tubes are precious. Fill one only when it unlocks something.
  • Before you pour, look at what's under the color you're moving. That's what you're uncovering.
  • Finish one color at a time when you can. A corked tube is out of the way for good.
  • On the levels with one spare tube, plan two or three pours ahead before you start.

faq

Can every level be solved?

Yes. Each level is checked by our solver, which also works out the fewest pours. That number is par, and it is shown on the level.

How do stars work?

Three stars for finishing within a couple of pours of par, two within about a third more, one for any finish. Hidden levels give a little extra room. Using the spare tube caps the level at two.

How does the difficulty go up?

Level 1 has two colors. Each level adds a color or a twist: hidden layers from level 4, and levels 10 and 15 give you only one empty tube.

I can't tell some colors apart.

Turn on symbols. Every color gets its own shape, so you can sort by shape instead.
