how to play corner pocket
Corner pocket is a free eight ball pool game against a bot, in the browser, with no sign up. Break, claim solids or stripes, clear your set, then sink the eight. Three bots: the rookie, the regular and the shark.
- You break. Drag the cue ball anywhere left of the dashed line, drag on the cloth to aim, then pull the power bar down and let go.
- The aim guide shows the ghost ball where the cue ball will touch, the line the object ball takes, and where the cue ball goes after. A red cross means that ball is a foul to hit first.
- The table stays open after the break. The first ball you sink after that picks your set. Sink one of yours and you shoot again.
- Fouls give the other side ball in hand anywhere: the cue ball dropping, hitting nothing, hitting the wrong ball first, or nothing reaching a cushion after the hit.
- Clear your set, then sink the eight in any pocket. The eight before your set is gone, or on a foul, loses the frame.
Keyboard: Left and right aim (hold Alt for fine aim), up and down set power, Space shoots. W and S set spin. With ball in hand, Shift and the arrows move the cue ball. Esc goes back to the menu.
tips
- Tap high on the little cue ball for follow, low for draw. The green line shows where the cue ball goes after the hit, spin included.
- A soft shot that leaves the cue ball near the middle beats a hard one that sends it round the table.
- No pot on? Touch one of yours gently and leave the other side nothing easy. That is a legal safety, as long as a ball reaches a cushion.
- With ball in hand, put the cue ball straight behind an easy pot, not right up against it.
faq
Do I have to call the eight?
No. Once your set is down, the eight wins in any pocket, as long as you hit it first and the cue ball stays up.
What happens if the eight goes in on the break?
It comes back to its spot and you carry on. It is not a loss.
Does a ball potted on the break give me that set?
No. The table stays open after the break. The first ball you sink on a later shot picks your set.
What is a foul?
The cue ball dropping, hitting nothing, hitting a ball that is not yours first, or no ball touching a cushion after the hit when nothing drops. The other side then gets ball in hand anywhere on the table.
How good is the shark?
It sees every pot on the table, plays the shot out before it takes it, and barely misses. The rookie aims wide and plays fewer options.
How is a frame scored?
A win scores by bot, plus how many of theirs were still on the table. A loss scores the balls of your set you sank.
