how to play squad bingo
Squad bingo is a free daily football card. Sixteen squares name a club, a country, a position, a birth decade, a star's teammates, the Ballon d'Or or a country's league. A deck of 40 players is dealt one at a time. Put each one on a square they fit and fill the card with as few players as you can.
- Read the name, plus the flag and birth year underneath.
- Tap a square that player fits. It stays filled, and that player is done.
- Skip is free: the player goes and the next one is dealt.
- A wrong square fills nothing and benches the next player too, so a guess costs two.
- Once a game, the wildcard puts the dealt player on every open square they fit.
- The card fills or the deck runs out. Fewer players used is better.
Keyboard: Arrow keys move between squares. Enter or Space fills the one you are on, S skips, W plays the wildcard, and Esc goes back to the menu.
tips
- Spend the obvious squares last. Countries and decades come round often; a club or a teammate square might not.
- Save the wildcard for a big name who fits three or four open squares at once.
- Played in means any club in that country, loans included. Played with means the two shared a club in the same season.
- A skip only costs the one player. When you are not sure, skip.
faq
Is there a new card every day?
Yes. Everyone gets the same card and the same 40 players that day. Freeplay deals a different one: easy keeps to the best-known players and two tricky squares, hard reaches deeper into the pool with six.
Who counts for a square?
A club means they played there at some point, loans included. A country means they are from there. Played in a country means any club based there. Played with means their years at one club overlap by at least a full season. A decade is the birth year. The position is the group listed for them.
How is it scored?
By players used, and lower is better. A skip uses one, a wrong square uses two. With a good wildcard you can finish under sixteen. If the deck runs out, the score is 40 plus one for each empty square. The share is the card of filled and empty squares, with no names.
Can every card be finished?
Yes. A check proves that for a year of dailies and for every level: each square has at least five players in the deck who fit it (four on hard), and sixteen different players can fill the card.
Where do the players come from?
Player facts and careers come from Wikidata (CC0). Country flags are from flag-icons (MIT). Squad bingo is not affiliated with any league, club or player.
