how to play top bins
Top bins is a free penalty shootout game. You take ten penalties against one keeper, and he remembers where you put them. Swipe toward the spot you want, bend the swipe to curl the ball, and see how many of the ten you can score.
- Swipe from the ball toward the spot you want. The ball flies along the line of your swipe: a longer swipe goes higher up that line, a short one skims along the ground.
- Bend the swipe in a curve to curl the shot. The ball sets off the way your swipe bows and bends back to where you aimed.
- The keeper guesses a side as you strike, from where your last few penalties went, then reacts to the start of the ball's flight. Once he dives one way he can't turn back.
- From the fifth kick a breeze pushes the ball sideways, and it can get stronger with every kick. The arrows at the top show which way and how hard.
- Score as many of the ten as you can. Shots that go wide, over the bar or off the post don't count.
Keyboard: Arrows aim (Shift for bigger steps), A and D curl, Space or Enter shoots. Esc goes back to the menu.
tips
- Don't keep going to the same corner. He learns fast and forgets slowly.
- The top corners are almost impossible to save and easy to miss. Swipe a little too long and it's over the bar.
- Curl fools him: he dives where the ball first seems to be going.
- Straight down the middle only works once he has already guessed a side.
- In a strong breeze, aim a little into the wind.
faq
How do you curl the ball in a penalty game?
Swipe in a curve instead of a straight line. A swipe that bows out to the right starts the ball right and bends it back left, and the other way round.
Can the keeper save every shot?
No. He saves what he guesses or reads. A well hit shot to the side he didn't guess, or into a top corner, goes in.
Can I play with a keyboard?
Yes. The arrow keys move a target around the goal, A and D add curl, and Space shoots. The target sways a little, like a real run-up, so time your shot.
What's a good score?
Six out of ten is decent, eight is very good, and ten is a perfect round.
